Marking the World most famous or Star Cars you would probably find Eleanor in the top 3 post if it wasn’t the first already, the car is loved by millions of car enthusiasts if if they weren’t muscle car fans, many replicas have been made but nothing like an original 1 out of 11 made for the movie that made her famous.
11 Eleanors were built for the movie’s scene that saw the Eleanor being chased through the streets of Long Beach, California. They were created by a company called Cinema Vehicle Services, and that’s the firm behind this particular vehicle. It wasn’t featured in the movie, its body was produced in the same mould run, and it’s being sold with a certificate of authenticity from CVS.
This Eleanor is one of dozens of incredible cars up for sale at the RKM Auctions event taking place at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi next month. You can read more about it here.
This particular vehicle was originally a 290bhp V8-powered Mustang GT and rolled out of Ford‘s San Jose plant in 19
67. But it’s been given a full going over by CVS and actually boasts a more impressive spec than the car in the movie. Instead of the 400bhp Ford 351 engine, the car on sale as a 428 Cobra Jet V8 with some 800bhp, as well as a Tremec five-speed transmission, Global West coilover suspension and SSBC Force brakes. A full build sheet comes with the car to prove to its new owner that it’s far more than just a pretty face. It’s also in pristine condition, having covered just 94 miles (151km) since its restoration.
Do you want to be that new owner? You’ll have to budget for the expected sale price of between $100,000 and $130,000 and make your way to the Abu Dhabi event on November 2.
